Victron Multiplus II GX 5KVA / Pytes V5 – Home Battery Storage System
We have combined two exceptional brands into one cost effective home storage system. Our Self Build kit comprises of all the major components required to build a simple user friendly system that will last for many years to come. We have priced our system very competitively with one Pytes V5 5.12kWh battery included, but you can add up to 15kWh of battery storage very easily. Each battery comes with a floor stacking brackets or we can also offer wall mounting brackets or even outdoor storage cabinets. The Pytes V5 battery also has inbuilt heat pads which is mandatory for outdoor or outbuilding installation where temperatures are lower.
Uses:
1. Storing cheap electricity tariffs.
Whether or not you have solar, you can utilise cheap overnight electricity through a smart meter or an low economy tariff to charge your battery system. While you sleep, the system can automatically charge during the low-cost electricity period, typically between 11:30pm and 5:30am, and then shut off once fully charged. This allows you to power your home using the stored energy for the rest of the day, depending on your energy consumption.
2. For existing solar installations without batteries.
To integrate the Victron home battery storage system with an existing solar installation, the system is connected to the mains, and the blue CT clamp is placed around the incoming power supply. The CT clamp monitors the flow of electricity in and out of your property. When excess solar energy is generated, the CT detects this and signals the battery to charge. Conversely, when solar production is low or unavailable and electricity is drawn from the grid, the CT instructs the battery to discharge and supply power to your home. This reduces your reliance on grid electricity, lowers your energy bills, and enhances the efficiency of your solar energy system.
3. Looking to add solar later.
If you plan to add solar panels in the future, our system is perfect for starting with lower electricity tariffs now and seamlessly integrating solar panels later. This allows you to fully benefit from solar energy when you’re ready to expand.
4. Use during power outages.
The Victron inverter charger includes a built-in secondary output designed to provide power during a power outage. This output draws energy from the batteries to supply electricity to essential appliances such as fridges, freezers, boilers, and lights, ensuring your home remains functional.
Online monitoring.
The Victron system includes a built-in GX device that connects to your internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, enabling you to monitor and manage your system from anywhere in the world. Using your mobile phone or laptop, you can adjust settings, enable or disable charging schedules, and oversee system performance. See the Victron VRM in action.

2. Do not open or mutilate batteries. Released electrolyte can prove harmful to the skin and eyes. It may be toxic.
3. A battery can present a risk of electric shock and burns by high short-circuit current.
4. A malfunctioned battery can reach temperatures that exceed the threshold of contact surface.
The following precautions should be observed when working on batteries:
a) Disconnect the power and loads before connecting or disconnecting battery terminals;
b) Do not wear any metal objects including watches and rings;
c) Use tools with insulated handles;
d) Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries;
e) Wear personal protective equipment.
f) Make sure the battery is well grounded.
Contact with any part of a poorly grounded or ungrounded battery can cause electric shock and burns by high short-circuit current.
The risk of such hazards can be reduced if conductive surroundings are removed by a skilled person during installation and maintenance.
Danger
1. Keep the Li-ion battery away from water, dust and contamination, otherwise it may cause explosion or other harmful conditions that may even lead to personal injury.
